Extracurricular Activities

A comprehensive legal education incorporates experiential learning opportunities to allow students to put classroom knowledge to work. Washburn Law's Government Law program offers well-rounded externships with political leaders, lobbyists, and state agencies as well as unmatched opportunities to interact with alumni and other key community and state leaders.

  • Center for Law and Government mentorships, seminars, lectures, skills training courses, and externship placements provide diverse opportunities for students to acquire strong advocacy skills.
  • Scholars and Practitioners in Residence from all law disciplines spend time at Washburn Law teaching classes and meeting with students in small groups. Additional workshops and Lunch and Learn opportunities take place continuously throughout the year and offer students insight to important allied disciplines.
  • Dynamic student associations meet regularly and routinely offer programming that enhance our students' knowledge and help develop additional practical skills.
