Join us in celebrating our graduates at the Washburn Law commencement ceremony! This joyous occasion marks the culmination of hard work and dedication. Gather with us to honor the achievements of our graduates.

Fall 2024 commencement ceremony

8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at Lee Arena

Celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates beginning with a commencement celebration on Friday, December 13, from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in Robert J. Dole Hall, Atrium. Graduates must RSVP by Nov. 21 and are allowed up to 8 guests. The official commencement ceremony follows at 8 p.m. in Lee Arena. The School of Law's ceremony will be combined with the School of Applied Studies, School of Business, and School of Nursing. Guests do not need to register and there's no limit on attendance.

Arrival times and parking

Graduates

  • Arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
  • Park in the parking lot east of Petro Allied Health Center and enter through the northeast entrance.
  • Check in at the table for the School of Law.
  • A group photo will be taken at 7:45 p.m. on the stairs at the northwest entrance to Petro.

Guests

  • Parking is free on campus. The closest lots are those surrounding Petro Allied Health Center. Parking for persons with disabilities is located south of Petro in Lot 5. View campus map
  • University staff will be available to assist guests with special needs. It is recommended that students and guests requiring assistance and/or special seating send an email to Janet Schneider (Commencement Director) or call 785.670.1310 at least 2 weeks prior to the ceremony date.

Ceremony livestream

The ceremony will be live streamed for guests who are unable to attend the ceremony. The stream should begin shortly after 7:45 p.m. The livestream can be found on the Washburn University's YouTube channel for live events.

Washburn Law Alumni Association

The Washburn University School of Law Alumni Association serves more than 7,000 graduates around the globe. Membership in the Association supports programs, services and communication to connect alumni students and friends. Upon graduation, our newest alumni receive five years of complimentary membership, and as part of this membership, alumni receive the Washburn Law Journal as well as discounts to local and national businesses.
