Founded in 1903, Washburn Law has always been committed to equality and justice. Our graduates are leaders in the legal and political communities, and our school has thrived despite challenges like the 1966 tornado that destroyed our building and much of the campus.

Washburn Law’s groundbreaking Third Year Anywhere program®, the first of its kind, allows students to spend their third year in the geographic location where they plan to practice. This innovative program helps students get involved in the local bar and gain practical experience while completing their courses online. By immersing themselves in the community where they intend to work, students build valuable professional networks and gain insights into local legal practices. This flexibility ensures that graduates are not only academically prepared but also professionally connected and ready to succeed in their chosen locations.
