Washburn Law is dedicated to supporting students who are passionate about pursuing careers in the energy sector. Our specialized curriculum, which includes the option to earn a Certificate in Oil and Gas Law, provides students with a focused course of study that addresses the complex legal issues they will encounter in practice. This 16-hour certificate program, combined with extracurricular activities and practical experiences, ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to enter the job market with a competitive edge.

Additionally, our externship opportunities, such as those with the Kansas Corporation Commission Oil and Gas Conservation Division and Chevron U.S.A., provide invaluable hands-on training.
