Tammy King is Assistant Dean for Professional Development at Washburn University School of Law where she advises law students and alumni on career options, job search strategies, and making the transition to professional employment. Tammy also coordinates the Washburn Law Pro Bono Program.

Tammy joined Washburn Law after serving as Assistant Dean for Career Development at Creighton University School of Law. Prior to that, she was Director of Career Services at Washington University School of Law. Tammy has 9 years litigation experience at the St. Louis law firms of Herzog Crebs, LLP and Thompson Coburn, LLP. She has been admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois and is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Topeka Bar Association, the Kansas Women Attorney Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Association for Law Placement (NALP). Additionally, Tammy has served on the Board of Directors of Kansas Legal Services, a statewide non-profit corporation serving low income Kansans through legal and mediation services. As a NALP member, Tammy has served as a member of the Communications Advisory Group (2011–2015), the Midwest Representative to the Regional Resource Council (2014-2016), a member of the Engaging Small Firms Task Force (2016-2017), a member of the Nominating Committee (2018-2019), the chair of the JD Career Advisors Section (2019-2020), a member of the Knowledge Management Advisory Group (2020-2021), and a member of the Annual Education Conference Planning Team (2021-2022).
