Welcome to Washburn University School of Law Library — one of the nation's best academic law libraries!

Due to COVID-19, the law library is open to law students, faculty, and staff only. 

Public patrons may use our services listed below. 

Reference Services:

 Curbside Pickup. 

The library is now offering curbside pickup of library materials. You may pick up items between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.  

Search for library resources using our online catalog.  To request an item from the library please email the full title, author, and call number (from the online catalog) to  A library staff member will contact you to set a date and time for pick up.

Study Aids

Lexis/Nexis Digital Library: offers access to Lexis treatises, practice guides, and study aids for law students, in eBook format.  Available to Washburn Law students, staff, and faculty (use firstname.lastname and your WUID number to log in)  Guest access is available at the law library.

CALI: Provides access to hundreds of law professor created quizzes and exercises on a variety of legal topics. Contact Barbara Ginzburg ( for the registration key. 


Hein Online: provides image and text-based access to law journals, Federal Register, treaties and agreements, U.S. Supreme Court reports.The libraries in HeinOnline provide comprehensive coverage from the inception of each publication.

JSTOR: archive of over 1,000 academic journals covering the humanities, social sciences, sciences, and selected monographs. Washburn University, through Mabee Library, subscribes to the Arts & Sciences I-XI and Life Sciences Collections.

Access to our databases
These electronic indexes and databases are available to all users in the Washburn School of Law Library. Access outside of the law school building (remote access) is available to Washburn faculty and students. First and last name and WU number are required for access. Some resources require a faculty/student password, as indicated. Exceptions are noted for specific databases.
