What we can help you with

Library staff cannot interpret or explain the law to you or advise you on what laws apply to your situation. They cannot give such legal advice because it would constitute the unauthorized practice of law. 

Library staff can: 

  • help you identify and locate needed legal materials in the Reference Collection and elsewhere in the library
  • instruct in the use of various legal resources in print, microform, and electronic formats 
  • locate facts such as names and telephone numbers

Law Library Hours

Law students, faculty, and staff can access the law library 24/7, 365 days per year. 

To use the door, hold your iCard next to the device (no swipe needed), wait for the green light, enter the library. Printers and scanners can be used. If you need to check out a book please return to the library and do so during normal business hours. 

Public hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed 
The Law Library is closed when the university is, including on Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, and when the University is closed for winter break. Check the university academic calendar to see when the university is closed.
