Washburn Law Journal held its 2019 Student Scholarship Series on Monday, April 15, 2019, in Room 102 from 12:10-1:30 p.m. for members to present their work.

Tanya Buettgenbach presented "Is Discrimination Incident to Service? How the Feres Doctrine Preserves Inequality." Ms. Buettgenbach will discuss how to remedy the lethal intersection of the Feres Doctrine and implicit bias in today's military.

Michael Harden presented "Knowing is Only Half the Battle: Rising Above the Information Standard in the Environmental Protection Agency's Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule to Reduce Lead Contamination in the United States." Mr. Harden will show that because the Environmental Protection Agency's Rule does not apply an enforceable standard on homeowners and do-it-yourselfers, its application falls well short of its intended purpose.
