1L Wineinger is First Law Student Appointed to KALAP

1L Kyler Wineinger has been appointed to serve as a board member for the Kansas Lawyers Assistance Program - the first law student to hold such a position.

Wineinger is also a founding member of the Washburn Association for Law Student Health (WALSH), which promotes the education, awareness, prevention, and early detection and intervention regarding the mental health and wellness of law students and professionals in the Topeka community; while working to diminish the societal stigma toward mental health and the seeking of assistance.

"Mental health and wellness unfortunately remain fairly taboo in our society," he said. "We must all actively strive to change this perception."
