"The Washburn-Utrecht Summer Law Program was not only a great learning experience, but also a personal trip of a lifetime."
Sheri Siemens
2005 Attendee
Students attending Washburn Law's Summer Study Abroad Program are expected to make their own arrangements for travel to and from the Netherlands. Washburn does not assume any responsibility for this transportation.
Scheduled airlines provide a variety of reduced fare plans. There are also several organizations that specialize in discount fares for students. Since summer flights to Europe are filled quickly, it is best to make travel arrangements no later than March.
Passports are required for travel to the Netherlands and are the responsibility of each student. Early application is recommended. Contact the nearest State Department Office or Post Office for further information. See the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs web site. A visa is not required for traveling to the Netherlands but may be necessary for travel to some other countries.
The U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands is located in The Hague. The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section, located in Amsterdam, assists American citizens in The Netherlands. The U.S. State Department maintains a fact sheet for U.S. citizens traveling to the Netherlands.
