"The Washburn-Utrecht Study Abroad program enabled me to further my legal education by comparing different legal systems, while also broadening my life experience by allowing me to travel throughout Europe. It was the most self-enriching experience of my law school career. I'm glad I took the opportunity to be a part of it."

Student Cancellation / Course Withdrawal
Students who have paid a non-refundable registration fee, but who decide to withdraw from the program, must officially withdraw in writing by May 16th. Written withdrawal should be submitted to the Dean's Office. Failure to withdraw by May 16th will result in the student being financially responsible for the housing fee.
Program Cancellation
If there are significant changes in the course offerings or other aspects of the Program (other than a change in Program personnel), applicants who have paid a deposit or registered in the Program will be immediately advised and afforded an opportunity to obtain a full refund of all fees paid.
Although the Washburn Law Summer Study Abroad Program has never been cancelled in the past, should the Program be cancelled for any reason after a deposit has been paid, the Director of International Legal Programs will use her best efforts to make arrangements for each student enrolled to attend a similar Program if the student so desires.
If, prior to its commencement, the Program is cancelled for any reason, all funds advanced by the student will be refunded within twenty (20) days after the date of cancellation.
If, prior to the commencement of the Program, a U.S. State Department Travel Warning is issued or the Netherlands is declared an "Area of Instability," all registrants will be notified promptly and given an opportunity to withdraw from the Program. Students who withdraw will receive a full refund of all monies advanced within twenty (20) days after notice of withdrawal.
If, during the course of the Program, the U.S. State Department Travel Warning is issued or the Netherlands is declared an "Area of Instability," all students will be notified promptly and will be permitted to withdraw from the Program. Should a student withdraw, or should the Program be terminated for this reason, students will be refunded all fees paid except for any fees used for Program activities (e.g., trips, events) prior to the issue date of the warning.
