Tammy King is Director of Professional Development and Pro Bono at Washburn University School of Law where she advises law students and alumni on career options, job search strategies, and making the transition to professional employment. Tammy also coordinates the Washburn Law Pro Bono Program. Tammy joined Washburn Law after serving as Assistant Dean for Career Development at Creighton University School of Law. Prior to that, she was Director of Career Services at Washington University School of Law. Tammy has 9 years litigation experience at the St. Louis law firms of Herzog Crebs, LLP and Thompson Coburn, LLP. She has been admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois and is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Topeka Bar Association, the Kansas Women Attorney Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Association for Law Placement (NALP). Additionally, Tammy serves on the Board of Directors of Kansas Legal Services, a statewide non-profit corporation serving low income Kansans through legal and mediation services. As a NALP member, Tammy has served as the elected Midwest Representative to the Regional Resource Council (2014-2016), an appointed member of the Communications Advisory Group (2011–2015), and is currently an appointed member of the Engaging Small Firms Task Force (2016-2017).
