Smoking Policy

Washburn University Tobacco Use Policy

Approved by the Washburn University Board of Regents, July 21, 2016; effective September 1, 2016.

The Administration shall establish regulations and procedures regarding smoking and tobacco use on property owned or leased by the University consistent with Board policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The Smoking and Tobacco Use policy applies to faculty, staff, students, contractors, and visitors to Washburn University and Washburn Institute of Technology campuses. Tobacco includes all forms of tobacco and tobacco use, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, electronic cigarettes, vapor-delivery devices, and chewing tobacco.
