Craig Hulse Speaks With Students About Government Affairs in the Practice of Law.

Craig Hulse (Washburn Law/UNLV '15) gave a Lunch and Learn talk entitled "Working for Uber: Law in Government Relations" on Thursday, September 21, 2017. His talk was co-sponsored by the Business and Transactional Law Center, the Center for Law and Government, and the Center for Excellence in Advocacy.

After graduating from law school, Hulse spent several years working in the gaming and lobbying industries before joining Uber. Hulse talked to students about the importance of government affairs in the practice of law today, and the skills that students need to serve clients interested in assessing and advocating changes to existing laws. He also discussed the growth of entrepreneurial companies in new areas (for example, Uber, airbnb, and Netflix), and the opportunities and risks of such start-ups. Hulse''s talk provided the students with a valuable window into a growing practice area.
