Washburn Law Named #2 in Government Law

The magazine evaluated law schools to see which do the best job of preparing students for careers in public service, by analyzing job placement data, school curricula, debt, salary, and loan repayment options.

Washburn Law, located in the capitol city of Kansas, features the Center for Law and Government, which provides students with expanded opportunities for public service. The Law School is ideally situated given its proximity to the State Capitol, the Kansas Judicial Center, the Frank Carlson Federal Courthouse, and numerous state agencies. Washburn Law offers students unique and varied opportunities to learn about lawmaking, judicial decision-making, administrative law, and the regulatory process.

Students have the opportunity to achieve a Certificate in Law and Government, a concentration in government and public policy coursework. Washburn Law also offers externships, giving students the opportunity to work with a multitude of state and federal agencies and entities as well as other groups, lobbying firms, and entities that seek to influence government.
