Ballard, Chaffee-McClure Win Evans Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition
The Washburn University School of Law Moot Court team of Matthew Ballard and Zachary Chaffee-McClure captured first place at the Evan A. Evans Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at the University of Wisconsin in Madison March 31 - April 2, 2006. Ballard and Chaffee-McClure, both second-year law students, also received the award for top respondent's brief (91 KB PDF).
Thirty-two teams from across the nation competed in the premier three-day event including Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, William & Mary School of Law, University of Connecticut School of Law, Valparaiso University School of Law, University of Minnesota School of Law and University of St. Thomas School of Law.
Professor Jeffrey D Jackson coached the team and the law firm of Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace and Bauer, L.L.P., sponsored the Washburn Law team by underwriting the competition costs.
