Kansas Court of Appeals Visits Washburn Law
Washburn Law and the Center for Excellence in Advocacy hosted the Kansas Court of Appeals on October 21 and 22, 2004. The panel heard oral arguments in the Robinson Courtroom and Bianchino Technology Center.
The day-and-half-long docket was special because
- the primary panel was composed entirely of Washburn alumni Judges Christel Marquardt (Class of 1974), Stephen Hill (Class of 1975) and Lee Johnson (Class of 1980) and
- the final argument on the Thursday morning docket was the first oral argument before the newest member of the Court, Nancy Caplinger (Class of 1985).
Cases heard ranged in subject matter from rape and child abuse, murder, and criminal sodomy to murder and possession of drug paraphernalia.
