Washburn Board of Regents Elects School of Law Alum and Friend as Officers

Photograph: James Roth.James R. Roth '66, has recently been elected chairman of the Washburn University Board of Regents. The term of office is one year.

Roth was originally appointed to the Washburn Board by Governor Joan Finney in June 1992 and reappointed by Governor Bill Graves in June 1996. He is engaged in private practice in Wichita and since 1979 has been a partner in the law firm of Woodard, Blaylock, Hernandez, Roth & Day in Wichita.

Roth previously served as chairman of the Washburn Board of Regents during the 1996-1997 fiscal year.

Photograph: Blanche Parks.Blanche C. Parks, a friend of the law school, and spouse of the late Sherman A. Parks '75, has recently been elected vice chairwoman of the Washburn University Board of Regents. Her term is for one year.

Parks currently sits on the Washburn Board as an appointee of the Kansas Board of Regents from the 19th State Senatorial District. She was originally appointed by Mayor Butch Felker in June 1993 and reappointed by Mayor Joan Wagnon in June 1996. Parks is employed as director of the Kansas Learning Quest College Savings Program in the state treasurer's office.
