Washburn Law Among the 30 "Most Wired"
Washburn Law School is among the 30 "Most Wired Law Schools," according to a survey published in the March, 2001 issue of The National Jurist magazine.
Each law school's information technology resources were evaluated based upon six criteria:
- use of information technology in courses and classrooms (availability of internal network for faculty/students; percent of courses using advanced online resources; percent of classrooms with half the seats networked);
- network access (number of network connections as a percent of enrollment; wireless network access);
- student access (Web space for clubs, bulletin boards, online registration and journals, free email);
- hardware resources (computer workstations and online research stations, both as a percentage of enrollment; research resources);
- career placement resources (web site; job postings and research; links to alumni; interview scheduling; resume posting; e-mail contact; advanced software); and
- other resources.
In a fifteen state region in the midwest, only Washington University in St. Louis and the University of North Dakota were rated more wired than Washburn. Washburn received high marks for network resources, student access and other resources.
