Washburn Law School Alums Head Lawyer Organization

Two Washburn law alums have been selected to lead national and international organizations of lawyers.

Lillian A. Apodaca '85 is President-elect of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She is a partner in the Albuquerque, N.M. law firm of Crider Bengham & Hurst, P.C., and previously served as President of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association. While at Washburn she was a member of the editorial board of the Washburn Law Journal.

Rex Linder '74 is President of the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is a partner in the Peoria, Illinois, firm of Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen. The IADC was formed in 1920 and includes 2,500 prominent lawyers from North America, Europe, Asia and Australia who specialize in litigation defense. Linder also was on the editorial board of the Washburn Law Journal and was elected as a student to the national Order of Barristers.

By leading national lawyers organizations, Apodaca and Linder join Washburn alum Richard Sangster '55, who previously served as President of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Sangster was senior partner in the San Francisco firm of Sangster and Mannion before joining McKenna & Cuneo in February, 1998.
