Video & DVD Collection
The Law Library actively collects law related videos and DVDs to enhance the learning experience of our students. The library collects videos in three categories: instructional, documentaries, and popular movies. Instructional videos are primarily related to specific legal skills such as trial advocacy and legal research. The documentaries the library collects focus on law suits, trials, law related materials. The "Law in the Movies" collection contains fictional movies with legal themes. The library also maintains a small collections of videos related specifically to the Washburn University School of Law. Over 1200 video titles are available from the library.
Finding a video
Videos are arranged in Library of Congress Call Number order. The collection is housed on the second floor of the library. Recently acquired videos are shelved at the end of the video collection. To find a listing of videos the Law Library owns search the Library Catalog.
Using the Videos
Videos may be watched by persons affiliated with the law school or the public using our Audio Visual Rooms located on the Second Floor. Patrons may reserve rooms at the Circulation Desk.
Washburn University Law School faculty, staff, and students, may check out videos from the library overnight. Limit one video per day when checked out Monday through Thursday, due the next day. Limit of two if checked out Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, due the following Monday.
