- Professor Williams served as Human Resources Manager for the City of Topeka before joining Washburn Law. Prior to that, she was assistant general counsel for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. where she advised on equal employment opportunity laws and employment practices, diversity relations and human resource issues.
- She worked in private practice as an associate attorney for Holland & Hart, LLP, and Dorsey & Whitney LLP, both located in Denver.
- After graduating cum laude from law school, she served as trial attorney for the Tax Division Honor's Program, U.S. Department of Justice, and was a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Wiley Y. Daniel, U.S. District Court, Denver.
- In law school she served as executive publications editor for the Howard Law Journal.
