Washburn Law Faculty
Washburn University School of Law provides a unique educational environment, where students take more pride in competing with themselves than in competing with one another. This academic climate is both embraced and encouraged by the faculty.
Faculty and administrators are accessible and approachable. Students are encouraged to make full use of their talent, commitment and enthusiasm. Fostering a congenial, cooperative academic environment, faculty members value student/professor interaction.
Whether a student's interest is in corporate law, civil litigation, public interest law or criminal prosecution or defense, the faculty works to kindle a fervor for the legal profession within each individual.
Washburn Law faculty members are as diverse as their legal interests. Almost half of the full-time faculty members hold advanced degrees. Over 30% of the full-time faculty are women and 24% are minorities. Such a diverse, well-rounded teaching community both exposes students to unique cultural perspectives and opens the door for a cooperative and mutually beneficial learning experience.
