Externships

Washburn Law offers students a broad range of externship opportunities that allow students to explore different career paths and learn about the practice of law while observing and working with lawyers in their daily routines.  In addition to improving their research, writing, and analysis skills, externs obtain a deeper understanding of various legal issues and better understanding of the types of legal issues that arise on a daily basis.  Having completed an externship gives students the ability to talk knowledgably with potential employers about substantive legal issues and the daily responsibilities of practicing law.  Of course, externships can also lead to paid internships and permanent post-graduate positions with the supervising agency or company.
