Meet Admissions Staff
Yolanda Ingram, Assistant to the Dean, Director of Admissions, has ten years of experience as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Director of the Conditional Admissions Program, and the Director of the Academic Support Program for the University of Memphis School of Law. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in English. Yolanda graduated with honors in 1995 from Washburn University School of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the Washburn Law Journal. Prior to her position at the University of Memphis, Yolanda was an Associate at Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton in Kansas City, Missouri; a Legal Writing Instructor at Temple University School of Law; a Judicial Law Clerk for Jackson County Circuit Court in Kansas City; and an Account Manager & Trainer for Thomson Reuters. Janessa Akin is the Assistant Director of Admissions. She previously worked at the Kansas Bar Association, where she served as the Public Services Manager and a Continuing Legal Education Program Planner. Allison Koehn is an Admissions Representative. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law as part of the 2013 graduating class. Prior to Washburn Law, Allison attended the University of Kansas, majoring in political science. While in law school, she was a member and Research Editor of the Washburn Law Journal. She also took part in Washburn's externship program by completing two externships at the United States District Court and the Kansas Court of Appeals. Jonathon Wood is an Admissions Representative. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law as part of the 2013 graduating class, finishing his law degree in 2 years as part of the fast track program. Prior to Washburn Law, Jonathon completed his undergraduate work at Kansas State University, earning a bachelor's of science in Accounting. While at Washburn Law he competed in Moot Court, was a part of the Civil Litigation Clinic, and completed the Intense Trial Advocacy Program. Jonathon has been accepted into the Army JAG Corps. Ashlyn Yarnell is an Admissions Representative. She is an alumni from Washburn University School of Law's 2013 graduating class. Ashlyn also attended Kansas State University, graduating in 2010 with a degree in history. She is originally from the Kansas City area, and has since moved back after living in various Kansas cities, as well as in Houston, Texas. Ashlyn received the family law certificate at Washburn Law and participated in several student organizations, including the Washburn and the American Bar Associations, Hispanic American Law Society, Phi Alpha Delta, and competitive trial teams. She was also admitted to the National Order of Barristers.
