Mike Eidson Scholarship

The Mike Eidson Scholarship Fund was established by the AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it. The scholarship is awarded annually to a rising 3L (or rising 4L in a night program) female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a plaintiffs' lawyer or criminal defense lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

Latham Diversity Scholars Program

Started in 2005, the Diversity Scholars Program is designed to increase the number of diverse attorneys who want to pursue careers in global law firms and intend to practice law in the United States. The program awards six law students at ABA-accredited law schools a $10,000 non-renewable scholarship for use during their second year of law school.
Eligibility: 1. Must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school; 2. Intend to practice law in a major city of the United States; 3. Must have successfully completed first year of a full-time JD program by the application deadline, with an expected graduation date of spring 2014; and 4. May not be the recipient of a similar scholarship award from another law firm.

Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City Diversity Scholarship

Award: $2,500

The Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City (AABAKC) plans to award a $2,500 Diversity Scholarship to eligible law student who demonstrate a commitment to serve or contribute to the Asian American community as future leaders.
Eligibility: 1. Must be a dues paying member of AABAKC; 2. Enrolled in an ABA accredited law school; 3. Be a first-year or second-year full-time student as of April 1, 2012.

Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship

Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among us are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm. These qualities enrich the environment in which we work. With this in mind, Baker Donelson will award three (3) scholarships to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2012. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for the summer of 2013 in one of their offices. Additionally, each recipient will be awarded $10,000 which will be paid prior to the student's third year of law school to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses.
