Transfer Student
Your application cannot be processed and reviewed until all items have been received by Washburn Law.
Advanced Standing and Transfer Policy: Students in good standing who have completed one year of study at an American Bar Association accredited law school may be admitted to Washburn University School of Law with advanced standing on such terms and conditions as the faculty may impose. A maximum of 30 hours may be transferred. Following is the application procedure for transfer students.
Submit the following items directly to Washburn University School of Law (see below for address):
- Washburn University School of Law Application
- Apply Online Via LSAC (click the Online Services tab and register for an account) or
- Signed, paper version mailed directly to our Admissions Office (download or request a copy).
- Application fee of $40.00.
- Personal Statement to be attached to application.
- Letter of recommendation from former law professor.
- Letter verifying good standing from dean of your prior law school.
- Final official transcript for all law classes completed at your prior law school.
- Law school class rank.
- Copy of original LSDAS report submitted to your prior law school.
Submit the following items directly to Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS):
- Official Law School Admission Test (LSAT) scores.
- Transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended.
- At least one letter of recommendation (may also be sent directly to Washburn University School of Law).
